The Pottawatomie County Sheriff’s Office is dedicated to providing services that are fair, impartial and effective; while holding its employees to the highest standard of morality and accomplishing our tasks with a spirit of excellence, both efficiently and professionally, being responsible and accountable to the public we serve, as well as each other.  We believe in the concept of continuous improvement, financial accountability and always striving to be the best we can be in all of our endeavors.

The Pottawatomie County Sheriff’s Office is open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week to serve the needs of our county. Administrative staff hours are 8:00 am – 4:30 pm Monday through Friday excluding county holidays.

VIN inspections and fingerprinting at our office in Westmoreland is by appointment only. Those appointments can be made with our records department at 785-457-3353 Monday thru Friday. VIN inspections can also be done without an appointment by Sheriff’s Office Deputies at another location in Pottawatomie County, just call our dispatch center at 785-457-3353 to set up a time.
