Lost and Found property is held by the Pottawatomie County Sheriff’s Office for 60 days. If you are missing property below, you can contact PTSO at 785-457-3353. Items can be claimed at the Pottawatomie County Sheriff’s Office located at 108 N 1st St, Westmoreland, KS. Items can be claimed during regular business hours of 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM; Monday through Friday, Closed Holidays and weekends. Claiming Items From the Property & Evidence Room
The owner must present:
- A valid driver’s license or state issued photo ID card. We will accept most forms of an ID as long as it includes a photo and date of birth.
- If the owner is having someone claim their property for them, they will need to write up a statement instructing the police department to release, what to release and who we are to release to. The statement must include the case number. The statement must be notarized.
