On 02-13-2017, the Pottawatomie County Sheriff’s Office received multiple reports of stolen vehicle batteries in the area of Louisville,Pottawatomie County.  These thefts are believed to have occurred between 02-08-2017 and 02-12-2017. Detectives working these cases received tips and assistance from the public to help identify a suspect, William Joseph Eichem.  Eichem was taken into custody near Wamego on February 13th, 2017 while in possession of some of the batteries that were reported as stolen. Eichem was also found to be in possession of other batteries, Heavy Duty, Automotive, and Lawn Tractor batteries.  Pottawatomie County Sheriff’s Office requests your assistance in identifying any of these recovered  batteries. If  you have recently had a battery stolen near the Louisville area, please contact Detective Derek Cid at (785) 457-3353.  William Eichem is a 36 year old male from Louisville and is currently being held at the Pottawatomie County Jail, bond being set at 25,000 dollars cash or commercial.

The Pottawatomie County Sheriff's Office is investigating a case of criminal damage to property damage that occurred between January 27th and January 30th, 2017. A Case backhoe had three windows broken out and one cracked. The backhoe was parked in the area of the 13000 block of McIntyre RD in rural Olsburg. Damage is reported to be estimated at about $2500.
