Press Release for August 8th, 2018

On August 5th, the Pottawatomie County Sheriff’s Office was notified of a 16 year old who had been the victim of a battery. The male victim from Onaga was reported to have suffered a burn during an altercation with a 34 year old male from Onaga. Sheriff Deputies along with the Onaga Police Department responded to the Onaga area. During the investigation it was alleged the 34 year old suspect had acted in a reckless and intentional manner that caused the 16 year old to suffer a burn to his arm. The suspect was identified as Ryan Hager of 501 High Street, Onaga. Hager was contacted by law enforcement at his residence, however was unwilling to leave the residence. A search warrant was issued for the residence of 501 High Street and Hager was taken into custody without incident around 3:30 a.m. on August 6th.

Ryan Hager was taken into custody for Arson, Aggravated Battery, Endangering a Child, Interference with a Law Enforcement Officer and Illegal drug charges, in addition, also taken into custody from the home was 34 year old Rachel Hager for Interference with a law enforcement Officer. Both individuals remain in custody at the Pottawatomie County Jail, bond pending. The investigation is ongoing at this time, the investigation will be forwarded to the Pottawatomie County Attorney for review.
