On Thursday May 7, 2020, at 8:00 a.m., the Pottawatomie County Sheriff’s Office received a 911 call of a construction accident at the Rock Creek campus, located in 9300 block of Flush Road, rural St. George, Kansas. Emergency personal were dispatched to the scene, and located a construction worker trapped in hole approximately 12 feet deep. The Pottawatomie County Sheriff’s Office, EMS, Fire and the Manhattan Fire Department were all on-scene for the rescue/ recovery efforts. The individual was pronounced dead at the scene. At this time the incident remains under investigation. The name and age of the individual is not being released pending family notification.
