Press Release for December 7th, 2020

On November 27, 2020, The Pottawatomie County Sheriff’s Office responded to the 9700 block of Lavender Lane, Manhattan, Pottawatomie County, Kansas for a vehicle burglary. Several items were removed from the vehicle to include the victim’s debit card. The stolen debit card was used at the Short Stop gas station, 8207 South Port Drive, Manhattan, Pottawatomie County, Kansas on November 28, 2020 at about 2:45am. A silver car (see photos below) was seen in the area and we are asking for the public’s help in identifying the vehicle and person seen in the photos. On December 1, 2020, the Pottawatomie County Sheriff’s Office responded to Reed Company, 4455 Highway 99, Wamego, Pottawatomie County, Kansas for the theft of a dump truck from the business. Employees had discovered that sometime in the evening hours of November 21, 2020, a 2004 Sterling LT9500 Dump truck was taken from the Reed Company sales lot. The Dump truck had the REED logo on both the driver’s side door and passenger’s side door and the total loss was just over $75,000.00.
