The Pottawatomie County Health Department will be conducting COVID-19 testing on June 17, 2020, for select inmates, jail staff and employees of the Pottawatomie County Sheriff’s Office. The Sheriff’s Office and the Health Department have been working directly with Kansas Department Health and Environment to ensure the safety of everyone. On Friday June 12, the Sheriff’s Office released that an employee had tested positive for COVID-19, contact tracing and tracking has been conducted by the Health Department for all individuals that would have come in contact with the employee. At this time there have been no additional COVID-19 cases at the Pottawatomie County Sheriff’s Office or Jail.
