Press Release for June 22nd, 2017

On June 19, 2017, at about 8:00 p.m. Pottawatomie County Sheriff Dispatch received a report of a Burglary in progress at a self storage facility located in the 10235 block of Military Trail Rd. rural Manhattan.  After arriving on scene, Deputies met with the victim who related to them that they (the victim) had found a suspect in their self storage unit and believe the suspect was removing items from their unit.  The victim confronted the suspect and the suspect fled.  The victim provided Deputies with a suspect description. Deputies investigated the incident and a short time later located a suspect in the area of State Lake 2, rural Manhattan. The suspect, identified as 29 year old William Charles Haman, Wamego, was later probable cause arrested for Burglary, Theft and Possession of Stolen Property.  Items reported as stolen were recovered and a pickup was located that was reported as stolen by the Topeka Police Department.  Anyone with information on this crime, or other Storage Unit burglaries in the area are asked to contact the Pottawatomie
