PRESS RELEASE: On January 10th, 2025 at approximately 6:46am, the Pottawatomie County Sheriff’s Office received a report of a two vehicle injury accident on Highway 24 at Schoeman Rd. Deputies determined that a passenger car
was eastbound on Highway 24 when it lost control and crossed the center line and was struck by a westbound pickup truck. The driver of the passenger car was injured and transported by Pottawatomie County EMS to a Topeka Hospital with serious injuries. The driver of the truck was taken to Wamego Health Center and treated for minor injuries. Both drivers were wearing their seat belts at the time of the accident. The accident is still under investigation and at this time, names of the drivers are not being released.
